
Barge2Beach 2024
Barge2Beach is a two kilometre Open Water swimming event with a difference! Get dropped off from a Kingfisher Bay Resort vehicle barge two kilometres offshore from Scarness Beach in the middle of the crystal clear waters of Hervey Bay. Swim back to shore with 200 other keen ocean swimming enthusiasts. This swim is part of the Hervey Bay 100 triathlon weekend run by the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club.
The ocean swim with a difference at the Hervey Bay 100 Festival
As the name suggests, the swim will start in open water on a boat, and you will swim 2km back to shore, finishing at the Hervey Bay 100 race precinct area on the beach at Scarness.
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female swimmers
$65 entry fee covers the 2km swim logistics, custom cap and athlete gift(our super collectable and fantastic coffee mug!)
The swim is sanctioned by Aus Triathlon and will follow thier rules for triathlon swim.
No ‘swim aids’ may be used (flippers, swim buoys etc.), if you aren’t confident to complete the swim without these, please don’t enter.
Competitors will be responsible for their own transport to the Urangan Boat harbour on Saturday morning. The ‘Spirit of Hervey Bay’ will leave at 7:45am sharp. Gear drop will be made available on the boat, with equipment taken back to race precinct at Scarness from the boat, be aware that it won’t be back by the time your swim finishes.
Race registration time from 6:30-7:30am and will be at the Whale Bay Marina, Bucaneer drive (near the giant whale) in Urangan.
